Astexlabs is a research-driven engineering laboratory based in Lagos, Nigeria. We are not a standard dev shop. We exist to solve the "Missing Middle"—the gap between generic software outsourcing and high-end, research-grade engineering in the African tech ecosystem.

The hybrid

We operate like Anysphere meets Anthropic: we build tools that revolutionize workflows, and we prioritize safety and cultural alignment. The body is services; the mind is research. We use client work to fund and inform proprietary datasets, benchmarks, and AI models that understand Africa.

The flywheel

• Research engine — Every project yields meta-data; we turn it into datasets and benchmarks.
